This could be a key moment for Newcastle United and Manchester United

I’m looking forward to this Newcastle United visit to Turf Moor, taking on Vincent Kompany’s Burnley on Saturday.

Two from Nottingham Forest, Luton Town and Burnley will join Sheffield United in next seasons Championship.

The clarets are fighting for their lives, as was proved last weekend with an impressive performance against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Burnley had more possession than Erik ten Hag’s pedestrian reds and a point was the least they deserved.

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle will be a much sterner test though.

I believe we will be in for a tough afternoon but I have been buoyed by the second half performance last Saturday against Sheffield United.

Unlike last week, we will have to be at our best from the start against Burnley.

I reckon the Toon will just have too much for Burnley in the final third of the pitch.

With Isak, Gordon, Wilson and Barnes in our ranks, I’m backing United for a 2-1 win which will leapfrog us over the Salford reds into 6th position.

They have a tough fixture on Monday night away at Oliver Glasner’s rejuvenated Crystal Palace.

With Eze, Mateta and Olise currently on fire for the Eagles, I’m predicting another torrid night for ten Hag and his hapless team.

I don’t often like to look too far ahead as I usually believe that we should take every game as it comes.

However, I’m sure it won’t have escaped anyone’s notice that after this weekend’s fixtures, Newcastle then have Brighton at home in another 3pm kick-off on 11th May.

Man Utd then host title chasing Arsenal on Sunday 12th.

This all means that we could be going into our Old Trafford shoot-out on Wednesday 15th May, with a significant points advantage on top of our much superior goal difference.

As has been proven by the way Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been behaving, Newcastle United backed by the supreme wealth and business acumen of the Saudi Arabia PIF, are now seen as a massive threat to Man Utd in the short and long term.
