We’re slap bang in the middle of the January transfer window.

So with only 15 days to go until the close of business, let’s take a look at some of the best – and worst – rumours doing the rounds on Tuesday.

With Alexis Sanchez set to leave Arsenal this month, manager Arsene Wenger looks to have already lined up his replacement.

Sky Sports claim that Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will sign for the north London club, with The Guardian reporting that the Gabon international could cost as much as €60m.

As one man comes in at the Emirates Stadium, it seems as if another is set to leave. Theo Walcott has been a Gunner for 11 years, but the 28-year-old looks to have paid for his inconsistency over recent years and will be sold this month. Several publications, including the Daily Mail, insist that the England winger is set to team up with Sam Allardyce at Everton, for a feee in the region of €25m.

Michy Batshuayi’s 18-month spell at Chelsea also looks set to come to an end this month. The Belgium striker has struggled to force his way into Antonio Conte’s starting XI, and ESPN believe that Sevilla are favourites for his signature.

New boss Vincenzo Montella wants the 24-year-old on an initial loan deal until the end of the season, with the view to a permanent signing in the summer.

Fake News ?

Spanish sports daily AS provide us with our least likely rumour of the day. They claim that Cristiano Ronaldo is desperate for a return to Manchester United after becoming disillusioned with the promises made by Real Madrid’s hierarchy over new recruits.

Leave Santiago Bernabeu? Maybe. For Manchester United? We’ll believe it when we see it.

There’s plenty of Arsenal rumours around of late, but one we’re certain won’t come to fruition is Danny Welbeck to Besiktas. Turkish newspaper Posta believe that the England international is the Super Lig side’s number one choice to replace Cenk Tosun, after he left for Everton last week. Welbeck in Istanbul? No chance.

Could Emre Can stay at Liverpool? The Germany international has long been linked with a switch to Juventus after the midfielder let his contract at Anfield run down to the last six months.

The 24-year-old however, has revealed that there’s no agreement with the Serie A giants and he could well be playing under Jurgen Klopp come next season: ““I haven’t signed anything with anyone,” he is quoted as saying by Goal. “I am talking with everyone. Of course I am talking with Liverpool. Why not? I still have a contract here. It is an amazing club.”

Having failed in their attempts to lure Simone Verdi from Bologna, Napoli are shifting their attentions to Barcelona attacker Gerard Deulofeu, according to Catalan daily Sport.

The former Everton man has been an outcast for the Blaugrana this season, making just nine appearances for Ernesto Valverde’s men. And the Partenopei are confident they can persuade the 23-year-old to swap La Liga for Serie A in a bid to bolster their forward options.
