Valencia head coach Rubén Baraja has this evening made crystal clear his feelings that Los Che were on the receiving end of some altogether poor officiating, in their meeting with Barcelona.

Valencia, of course, marked their return to action a short time ago.

Amid the club’s ongoing pursuit of a European berth for next season, Baraja and co. made the trip to Catalunya, for a daunting La Liga meeting with the aforementioned Barcelona.

And, when all was said and done, the evening’s visitors found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 4-2 result.

One individual of the opinion that Valencia were hard done by on their way to as much, though, comes in the form of the club’s headmaster.

Speaking to the media post-match on Monday, Rubén Baraja revealed his take that Barcelona’s goal which brought the sides level at two goals apiece early in the 2nd-half should have been disallowed.

This comes with Fermín López, who was seemingly deemed by VAR as not directly interfering with play, having been standing in an offside position as Robert Lewandowski’s header made its way into the net:

“There’s a clear offside in Lewandowski’s goal. Fermín López is offside, but the referee considers that he does not participate in the play.”
