Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has this weekend made full use of the opportunity to aim something of a dig at Barcelona.

This, of course, comes fresh off Real dethroning their arch rivals as La Liga champions.

After Los Blancos’ comfortable downing of Cádiz on Saturday evening was followed by a Barcelona defeat at the hands of Girona, the former clinched the title, with a full four games to spare.

As much comes amid what represents an ever-widening gap between the two biggest clubs in Spain, with Real primed to add ever further to their already star-studded ranks by way of the likes of Kylian Mbappé and Endrick in the summer.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of Carlo Ancelotti’s stars being in altogether joyous mood.

And one such player, evidently, comes in the form of Vinícius Jr.

Amid the celebrations in Spain’s capital late on Saturday night, wide-man Vinícius set aside some time to take to his official social media accounts.

Why? To aim a less-than-subtle dig at the aforementioned Barcelona.

Following last year’s Spanish Super Cup final, in which Barca put Real Madrid to the sword to emerge triumphant, Blaugrana star Ronald Araújo declared that a ‘new era’ was on the way in Spain, in which his side were ready to dominate.

And Vinícius, evidently, did not soon forget such comments…

In turn, in a post on his official ‘X’ account, the Brazilian unveiled a series of statistics, highlighting the trophy hauls of he and some of his teammates, accompanied by the caption:

‘La nueva era’ (the new era):
