Aston Villa entertained Brentford at Villa Park earlier today as they hoped to secure all three points at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 39th minute thanks to Ollie Watkins’ effort. Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Morgan Rogers doubled the home team’s advantage in the 46th minute. However, Brentford came roaring back thanks to a goal each from Mathias Jorgensen and Bryan Mbeumo around the hour mark before Yoanne Wissa put his side 3-2 up in the 68th minute. Ollie Watkins ended up rescuing a point for the Villans as he scored the equaliser in the 80th minute. The contest finished with Aston Villa earning a hard-fought 3-3 draw in front of their home fans.

GK: Emiliano Martinez – 5.5/10
Martinez failed to make a save in the game and won’t be happy after conceding three times in the second half.
RB: Ezri Konsa – 6/10
He failed to keep things solid at the back and made one good chance going forward.
CB: Diego Carlos – 6.5/10
Carlos cleared the danger when he could but still ended up conceding three times in the second half.
CB: Pau Torres – 6/10
The Spaniard made some crucial clearances inside his half but it was far from a convincing performance from him today.

LB: Lucas Digne – 6/10
He failed to keep things tidy on the defensive end of the field and offered very little going forward.
RW: Leon Bailey – 6.5/10
Bailey made one positive run with the ball but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
CM: Youri Tielemans – 7/10
He was a positive influence in both halves and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
CM: Douglas Luiz – 6.5/10
Luiz made two inviting chances for his teammates in the opponent’s half.
LW: Morgan Rogers – 7.5/10
He performed his defensive duties well and managed to get his name on the scoresheet early in the second half.
CAM: John McGinn – 7.5/10
McGin earned the ball back a few times and secured an assist as well.
ST: Ollie Watkins – 8.5/10
He scored a brace which was enough to rescue a point for his team.
