Juventus could further increase their likelihood of qualifying for the 2024-25 edition of the Champions League if they manage to beat Roma in Serie A on Sunday evening.

The Bianconeri require six more points to mathematically guarantee their spot in next year’s competition, with just four games of the 2023-24 campaign remaining.

Juventus currently find themselves in third in Serie A, behind Milan and champions Inter, who have both confirmed their spot in next year’s Champions League. With 65 points from 34 league matches, Juve could still technically be caught by fourth-placed Bologna, fifth-placed Roma and sixth-placed Atalanta.

Fortunately for the sides at the top of Serie A, Italy will have at least five teams competing in the Champions League next season, which could become six if either Roma or Atalanta win this year’s Europa League and then go on to finish outside the Serie A top five.

For Juventus, a spot in next year’s edition of Europe’s top competition will bring a guarantee of at least €40m in additional revenue, according to Calciomercato.com.

That sum will come in handy given the money the club owe to Cristiano Ronaldo, and the fact that Massimiliano Allegri and his staff could still be paid out of their contracts, as per Sunday’s report.
