A headline member of the attacking ranks at French giants Paris Saint-Germain has on Friday been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week.
The star in question? Ousmane Dembélé.
Wide-man Dembélé, of course, enjoyed an outing to remember on the continent this past Tuesday night.
As much came as the Frenchman, amid a predictably hostile reception back in Barcelona, played a central role in PSG sending Xavi’s Blaugrana packing from the Champions League’s quarter-finals.
After drawing his side level in Catalunya’s capital, Dembélé later won a penalty for his side, too, en route to an eventual 4-1 rout.
In turn, on Friday, such exploits on the part of the explosive winger have been aptly recognised.
As per a statement across UEFA’s official social media platforms, Dembélé has been voted the Champions League Player of the Week.
The 26-year-old beat out competition from the trio of Joshua Kimmich, Julian Brandt, and Federico Valverde to secure the prize.
