Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique spoke today in a pre-match press conference ahead of Les Parisiens’ final home game of the season at the Parc des Princes against Toulouse. At the presser attended to by RMC Sport, the Spaniard was visibly frustrated when asked about whether he consider’s PSG’s semi-final exit in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund to be a “Failure”.

“I assume the question was translated correctly because the translator is quality. Was the word failure used? I’ll try to be polite: how many teams are in the Champions League? I’m asking you,” replied Luis Enrique, addressing the journalist. “You don’t know how many? Maybe the failure was not studying how many teams there were.”

“Let’s move on to the next question and we’ll avoid a problem,” Luis Enrique ended up brushing off the question. The former Barcelona manager then admitted that “We had high hopes for this potential Champions League final.”

“We’re suffering from these two games, we don’t think they reflect our merits. We’re already looking forward to tomorrow’s party, but it’s been a hard blow for everyone. At the end of the day, what remains is the feeling that we gave 100% even if the result wasn’t up to scratch. We’re turning the page.”
