Alexis Sánchez put in a pretty horrible performance in Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, but at least he has an excuse.
Sánchez came off the bench just before half-time to replace the injured Jesse Lingard.
But before coming on, the Chilean was involved in a nasty collision with the linesman while he was warming up on the touchline.
Unfortunately, it seems the incident was not caught on camera, but the 30-year-old was reportedly knocked to the ground and later complained to United’s medical staff that he had picked up an injury just above the knee.
As far as we’re aware, the linesman came out of it unscathed.
That means Sánchez is now a doubt for Monday night’s FA Cup trip to Chelsea, but the Old Trafford faithful are unlikely to be shedding too many tears about that after the way he’s performed since joining the club from Arsenal in January 2018.
