The 18-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough year with the Lilywhites, announcing himself in the first-team since the start of the campaign, operating mostly in the full-back position despite being best known as a midfielder during his time in the academy.

But the youngster has showcased his ability to adapt and has taken the second tier by storm, with his performances recognised after being named the EFL's Championship Young Player of the Year, beating both Norwich City's Jon Rowe and Jordan James of Birmingham City to the accolade.

But with those performances has come interest, with Gray linked with a potential move away from Elland Road in the summer.

The 18-year-old's rise to stardom in Leeds' quest for promotion to the Premier League has not only brought attention from the top flight, but also across Europe.

It was reported by HITC that Real Madrid have been keeping a close eye on Gray, with Bayern Munich also reportedly interested, with the same report revealing that officials from each club were in attendance for the Lilywhites' 3-1 victory over Hull City at the start of the month.

Both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also shown their interest in the full-back, as per a report from Football Insider, with Everton also showing an interest, as Gray's performances warranted huge interest during the January transfer window.

Daniel Farke has not entertained the possibility of losing one of his star men when talking to Sky Sports, with the youngster brushed off any talk of a potential exit from Elland Road on the club's podcast.

Leeds have also insisted they are not planning on cashing in Gray's services any time soon, according to a report by HITC, with full focus on securing automatic promotion this term.

Leeds United fan pundit gives Roméo Lavia 'benchmark' observation when discussing Archie Gray price tag

But should the midfielder turned full-back leave the club in the summer, Leeds will be hopeful of receiving a large sum in the hopes of trying to replace him.

And those potential suitors will have to trump up a hefty transfer fee as Gray signed a new deal with the Lilywhites until 2028 in January, having seen his previous deal expire in 2025.

Football League World's Leeds fan pundit, Kris Smith, believes a potential exit for Gray hinders whether Leeds are able to secure an immediate return to the Premier League, making reference to Roméo Lavia's £58 million move to Chelsea following Southampton's relegation last term, as a potential transfer fee the club should look to be seeking.

"I think like any player you could look at in a discussion about Leeds selling, it all depends on what league we are going to be playing football in next season," Smith said.

"I think Gray would be naive to leave too soon, even if we don't get promoted this season.

"But, the money we would be looking at to let him go would set us up massively in terms of PSR. If we're in the Premier League, the 49ers probably wouldn't sell for any price.

"But in the Championship, you would only have to go back to the summer when Roméo Lavia left Southampton for £58m. That really, for me, sets quite a big benchmark for how much we could command.

"A teenage midfielder, who is not the star of the show but an incredible talent and someone that so many big clubs are looking at. You could easily ask for that sort of fee.

"With all of that, we have got him tied down until 2028, so should a team want to prize him from us, you are going to be paying for that money at least, or you would hope that anyway."
