Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio has confirmed that Inter plan to make a few signings this summer – but that the club will not have nearly as busy a transfer window as last time around.

Last summer, Inter signed twelve players in total. These were to replace the same number of players who had left the club.

This time around, the priority looks to be more a matter of keeping the existing squad relatively intact.

However, that doesn’t mean that Inter aren’t going to try and build from a position of strength.

Striker Mehdi Taremi and midfielder Piotr Zielinski are arriving on free transfers.

And the Nerazzurri will still target signings in a few key areas. According to the Gazzetta, there are three priorities for Inter – and a player at the top of their shortlist in each position.

Bento, Buongiorno & Gudmundsson Inter Milan’s Three Top Targets This Summer

Firstly, Inter want to sort out the long-term future in goal.

Yann Sommer has been more than adept as the Nerazzurri’s first-choice keeper.

However, the former Bayern Munich keeper is 35. Inter know that he cannot stay at this level forever.

So the club’s plan would be to sign a younger keeper who can back Sommer up in the short term. And then, as the current Number One takes a step back, take his place.

Inter’s top target is Athletico Paranaense keeper and Brazil international Bento.

Paranaense will want at least €20 million for the 24-year-old.

Even more expensive would be Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno. The Granata will want no less than €35 million for the Italian international, who’s been one of Serie A’s outstanding defenders this season.

Moreover, there is competition for Buongiorno’s signature. The Gazzetta note that both AC Milan and Napoli are keen on the 24-year-old.

But Buongiorno himself prefers a move to Inter. This could certainly be a point in the Nerazzurri’s favour.

Lastly, the Gazzetta report, Inter have made Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson their top target in attack.

The Grifone would want a similar fee for the Icelander as what Torino would ask for Buongiorno.
