The search for a coach at FC Bayern has caused quite a stir and unrest in recent weeks. This should now soon come to an end. According to the latest reports, Max Eberl & Co. want clarity regarding the successor to Thomas Tuchel by the end of April.

For almost two months, FC Bayern has been sounding out the market at full speed in search of a new head coach. Numerous names have been bandied about at FCB in recent weeks. Mastermaker and favourite candidate Xabi Alonso is no longer available.

According to Sky, Julian Nagelsmann is now the new top candidate at Säbener Straße. Talks between the club and the coach are said to be at an advanced stage.

The Abendzeitung München, on the other hand, reports that there is no clear tendency or even a decision in favour of Nagelsmann within FCB. Although the 36-year-old is a possible candidate for the position, Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are still in talks with other coaches.

Rangnick and Emery are still in the running

According to AZ reporter Maximilian Koch, Ralf Rangnick and Unai Emery are also still in the running. Both candidates are currently being discussed at the Isar. Roberto de Zerbi, on the other hand, is no longer a hot topic, according to Koch.

The problem with Nagelsmann is still the fact that not all those responsible in Munich are convinced of a comeback. Eberl, on the other hand, is said to be the biggest supporter of Nagelsmann and is pushing for a return.

The interesting thing is: According to information from AZ, the coaching discussions at FC Bayern will not last much longer. According to this, the decision-making process should be finalised by the end of April. Bayern want to start the announced squad reorganisation as soon as possible. In plain language, this means discussing ideas and making decisions with the new coach. Which players should leave in the summer, who should stay? And which players would strengthen the squad?

One thing is clear: no matter who wins the race in the end, Bayern do not want to hire an interim coach for one season in order to try to find Xabi Alonso or Jürgen Klopp in 2025. After three changes of coach in less than three years, those in charge finally want continuity on the coaching bench.
